Other Way Around in DOORS — How to Escape The Backdoor

Where to get it

The timer’s ticking, Haste is waiting, and the badge is behind the last door. You get Other Way Around for escaping The Backdoor: at the very end, you need to open door 0. When it bursts open, everyone in the group gets the badge, even players who died.

How to get it

Enter The Backdoor through the opening in the fence to the right of the Lobby. You’ll need the Detour badge.
After door -50, you get one minute for the whole floor. Pull the timer lever in that room right away. It adds another minute.
Look for Interactables along the way: they’re the only things that extend your time.
Reach the last room and open the door behind door 0000.

How hard is it?

Uncommon rarity. The floor is short, but it’s intense the whole way through: you’re constantly checking the timer and counting Interactables.

Tip

I wouldn’t search every drawer in The Backdoor. Interactables matter more than Gold, and wasting an extra minute in a side room will come back to haunt you when Haste is on your heels.

Racing the Timer

You can see the time left above the levers and on every open door. Keep an eye on it, not the music, though the music gives you a clue too: the less time you have, the more intense it gets.

The second main lever always appears between doors -47 and -43. More levers can show up in side rooms, adding 15 or 30 seconds. I always check a side room if the timer is under a minute.

What to Do When Time Runs Out

When the timer hits zero, Haste appears and chases the players. Anyone he catches dies instantly.

You still have a chance. If you pull a lever before he kills anyone, Haste disappears right away. So don’t hide from him—run to the nearest lever.

Blitz and Closets

The other enemy here is Blitz. When the lights flicker, he appears by the far door and rushes through the room. His attack is usually fatal, but a closet guarantees you’ll survive.

The good news: Hide isn’t in The Backdoor, so you can stay in a closet as long as you need. The bad news: the timer keeps ticking while you’re in there.

The Final Room and Door 0000

In the last room, The Vestibule, you can buy a Starlight Bottle for Gold. If you have Gold left, I think it’s the best thing to spend it on in The Backdoor. After door 0000, everyone—alive or dead—is sent to The Hotel’s reception desk. Your run continues there.
